What is your role at Capitalixe?  

As the Head of Business Development, I am primarily focused on client management and ensuring that our clients have the most effective and seamless experience possible. Once we identify a suitable partner for our clients in the areas of payments or banking solutions, I take charge of facilitating the process and maintaining effective communication between all parties involved. This involves liaising directly with our partners and working closely with them to ensure that we are meeting our clients’ timelines and expectations. 

With over 15 years of experience in sales, I actively contribute to sales training, leveraging my extensive knowledge and expertise to help our sales team refine their skills and strategies. It is important to me that I share my ideas on how our team can reach their goals and continually motivate them to achieve success. 

Additionally, I lead the acquisition of new providers and evaluate how their offerings can contribute to expanding our service portfolio. This involves travelling across the globe to attend networking events and generate new business opportunities. By doing so, I not only raise awareness of Capitalixe but also highlight the success of women in what is often considered a male-dominated industry, particularly within the financial services sector. It is crucial for me to showcase that gender diversity and inclusion can thrive in the fintech space, empowering women to excel and make significant contributions.

 

What does a typical workday look like for you?  

A typical workday for me involves a dynamic blend of activities and responsibilities. Some days can be quite intense, resembling a roller-coaster ride filled with back-to-back meetings and complex situations where time seems to fly by. However, there are also days when everything flows smoothly. Regardless of the circumstances, my clients remain my top priority, and ensuring that I provide them with comprehensive answers to their queries is of utmost importance to me. 

In addition to catering to my existing clients’ needs, I actively engage in sourcing new leads and expanding our client portfolio. This not only contributes to the growth of Capitalixe but also allows me to forge new relationships and gain insights from diverse individuals, even in the online space. 

I dedicate a portion of my time to knowledge sharing and education. I utilize various platforms, such as social media, to promote our services through informative posts and newsletters, or at events I am attending. 

 

 

What inspired you to join our fintech consulting team specialising in payments and banking solutions?  

Having worked in various sectors of the financial services industry, including lending, savings, FX broking, and hedging, I was eager to expand my knowledge and expertise in the high-risk space. Capitalixe’s focus on fintech and its reputation for providing cutting-edge payments and banking solutions aligned perfectly with my career aspirations. 

Additionally, I was drawn to Capitalixe because of its commitment to offering a flexible work environment without compromising sustainability. The opportunity to strike a balance between my personal life and professional growth was incredibly appealing. By joining Capitalixe, I could pursue my passion for financial technology while also maintaining a fulfilling quality of life. 

  

 

What are the most rewarding aspects of your role at Capitalixe?  

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role at Capitalixe is the opportunity to build strong relationships with our clients. Witnessing the satisfaction on our clients’ faces when we successfully address their problems brings me immense joy and fulfilment. 

The financial rewards, such as commission structures, associated with my role are certainly motivating. Feeling valued for the work I do is important, and Capitalixe recognizes and rewards the efforts of its employees. Knowing that my contributions are recognized and compensated appropriately adds to the overall satisfaction I derive from my role. 

Also, I feel very fortunate to work alongside our visionary founders who consistently support and guide me in my professional endeavours. Their presence and mentorship provide a strong foundation for growth and allow me to continuously enhance my skills and expertise in the fintech industry. 

I love the constant challenge and the perpetual learning of emerging trends within the fintech, payments, and banking sectors. I wouldn’t trade this dynamic and rewarding professional journey for anything else. 

  

 

What challenges do you face when providing payments and banking consulting services for high-risk industries?  

When providing payments and banking consulting services for high-risk industries, we encounter several challenges that demand our expertise and meticulous approach. One significant challenge revolves around the scarcity of high-risk friendly payments and banking providers in the market. However, this serves as an opportunity for us to showcase our unique selling proposition (USP). At Capitalixe, we carefully select our partners and ensure that we offer our clients reputable and reliable solutions tailored to their specific needs. 

The banking and payments landscape is undergoing rapid transformations, and this poses a significant challenge for us as we provide consulting services to high-risk industries. It is imperative to stay at the forefront of the industry by keeping up with new technology advancements, regulatory changes, and their jurisdictional impact. To effectively address the evolving demands and requirements of these industries, we proactively educate ourselves, ensuring that our clients receive the most up-to-date and innovative solutions available.

 

What excites you the most about the advancements in fintech and their impact on payments and banking?

The advancements in this field are truly exhilarating. One aspect that particularly stands out to me is the emergence of face recognition payments, a trend gaining significant traction in Asia. The potential it holds for streamlining payment processes and enhancing user experiences is truly impressive. With this technology, individuals can make transactions simply by using their facial biometrics, eliminating the need for physical cards or devices. As this innovation continues to rise in popularity, it is only a matter of time before we witness widespread adoption globally. 

Another transformative development that has revolutionized the banking landscape is the utilization of virtual International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs). Virtual IBANs have gained immense importance and popularity in recent times because of how help businesses to significantly expand their market reach, allowing them to collect funds in local currencies without the need for a physical presence in each country. This capability empowers organizations to effortlessly navigate complex international payment processes, facilitating seamless cross-border transactions. The convenience and efficiency afforded by virtual IBANs are truly remarkable, enabling businesses to streamline their operations and optimize their global financial strategies. 

 

What motivates you to exceed expectations for your clients, even in the face of obstacles?

My motivation is driven by a strong passion for delivering exceptional results and an inherent work ethic. I firmly believe that in this ever-evolving landscape, success lies in going the extra mile and embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. I believe that a job well done is not merely satisfactory, but an essential component of building long-lasting partnerships with our clients. 

Also, I’m determined to get a deep understanding of the significance of each client’s business. For them, their venture is more than just a financial endeavour. It represents their aspirations, dreams, and hard work. By exceeding their expectations, I aim to empower them in achieving their goals and witnessing their growth. 

Also, I am continuously motivated by the dynamic nature of the payments and banking industry. The challenges that arise present opportunities to push the boundaries of innovation, refine our strategies, and explore emerging trends. By keeping myself updated with the latest advancements and industry best practices, I can provide clients with invaluable insights and recommendations that align with their specific needs.
 

What are the key insights or lessons learned from working at Capitalixe?  

Working at Capitalixe has greatly influenced my professional growth. I have gained a deep understanding of high-risk industries and the dynamic nature of the fintech landscape. The speed at which the industry is evolving is truly remarkable, and being a part of this fast-paced environment has taught me the importance of adaptability and staying ahead of the curve. 

My experience at Capitalixe has solidified the importance of prioritizing quality of life. The company’s remote work culture has been a catalyst for achieving a better work-life balance, allowing me to be more present for my family. What are your interests outside of Capitalixe? 

Staying physically active is important to me, and I particularly enjoy engaging in activities such as boxing or taking leisurely walks along the canal near my home. 

I find joy and creativity in baking, and I take great pride in my ability to make English scones (they really are the absolute best!). 

Exploring different cultures through travel is another passion of mine, as it broadens my perspective and allows me to appreciate the diversity of our world. I also enjoy expanding my knowledge through podcasts and books on various subjects. 

Spending quality time with my family holds a special place in my heart, and it is something that I truly treasure. Days spent with my loved ones are the best days!
